FlowerLeaf is a modern symphonic metal band based in Düsseldorf with regular releases and tours around Europe.

They asked me to shoot a new hero image for their website, social media and merchandise. We worked closely together to develop the look - smoke with backlighting to evoke an onstage performance but also a sinister and atmospheric mood. As well as the classic ‘band photo’ we staged some shots to include FlowerLeaf’s signature props.

The technical setup was straightforward, two key flashes to an even lighting from the front, coupled with backlighting to emphasise the smoke and silhouette the band from the background.
